Ran a very slow and easy 5 miles along the Provo river running trail. My mid point wher turned back was just past riverside country club. I didn't feel like running much faster until about 3.5 miles. Just trying to ease into a steady running routine. My average pase was 9 min miles. It feels good to run.

Muscles were sore last night when I ran so I did a 3 mile recovery run. Avr. between and 9 and 10 minute miles. I didn't feel like running or going faster until 2.5 miles into the run. the first morning after my 5 mile run I was very hungry and eating everything in site. morning after 2nd run which is actually the 23 I don't feel as hungry. I think that I would like to switch to morning runs eventually but I would have to run around 4:30 or 5 am to fit it into my morning schedule.

Increased appetite is a good sign. For better mileage and to break the monotony of sitting, try to get out for a 1 mile jog during the day.

my right achilles tendon hurt and after a mile I was thinking of just doing three at 1.5 it started to loosen so I ran 5 but I made sure to not push. I ran at an avr 10 min mile picking up the pace after 2.5. in between 2.5 and 3.5 I felt the best I could feel the steady pace kick in and I began to do the gut regulation of my hips making sure that I was keeping a steady rpm. this morning the 24th my achillies tendon was a little sore but I dont think I hurt it. I will probably do another 3 mile recovery run today.

You should probably keep it down to 1 mile, very light jogging. Going from nothing to 8 miles a day in a week might be an overkill, especially if something is already hurting.

This has been one of the most difficult runs this week mentally and endurance wise to keep running. Didn't feel like running until 2.5 miles into the run. I saw a lady resting on the trail with lots of bags from maceys about 100 meters from the end of the run. I helped her carry them home. I was able to get and extra .25 miles in because of it.

I had a difficult run too today. Today was a bit warmer than it has been, which I believe caused the problem in my case. Indeed, you went the extra mile today in more ways than one!

I am going to try and run 3 everyday. today I ran 1.5 miles to work and 1.5 miles home. There was an hour brake in between while I was working. there is a big hill in the run.

The muscle in my upper right thigh felt pulled and I got home around 10 pm from the temple. In addition I will be transitioning to morning runs tomorrow so I ran 1 mile today.

I woke at 4:45 this morning and went running. Still trying to take it easy. It has only ben 8 hours since my last run. I ran 11 min miles. Felt good to run in the morning. I am also walking to and from work now a days so that is an extra 3 miles of calorie burning that will help me keep my weight down.

This week has been thrown off by going to bed late so I am trying to switch back to mornings. It was late but I ran a mile anyway. Trying to keep up with my commitment and I figure if sasha says it will help me running 6 day a week, he is probably right.

I have been in open rebellion the last two days against running and working hard specifically. A bit of a vacation from the stresses of live. It really has felt like a vacation. So I will try not to have another one of these running vacations for at least a month.

Mental vacation felt great. I went running this mornining at 5. It was hard at first to get up but the run felt great. I ran at about a 9min 30 sec pace. I am hoping that over time I will get faster. For right now my goal is to be constent and get my running up to 35 plus miles per week

Keep up the good work! I think you are ready for "the day does not end until I've run 3 miles". In other words, if it is 11:00 pm and you have run less than 3 that day, you are out and going for at least 3-x miles where x is the number you've run prior to that.

Went running at 6:30 this morning and I had to climb on a wall to jump over some water. I think I might have very very lightly sprang my left ankle. I will take it easy and only run 3 tomorrow probably thought I was planning on running 5.

Hope the ankle is ok. I was out for 8 mouths last year with an ankle injury. It made things difficult, especially trying to get back into shape, but with time and continued quality training my times started to improve and running became more of a joy. Keep up your training and that hard work will pay off sooner than you know it.

Went running in the after noon and it felt great. I think i was running sub 9s around 8 min miles toward the end. There were two girls that started running in front of me about the same speed just a little slower when than I was running but about the same speed so I kicked it into high for about the last mile and a quarter so that I would stay ahead.

It was late and I was thinking of skippin but then my wife told me that I would feel better if I ran and she prayed I would have the strength to run in our family prayer. so right afterward at 11 pm I went running.

I think my body is getting in better shape. It least that is what it feels like. I am still running just under 10 min avr. I start slow and probably end somewhere around an 8 min mile or faster.

Maybe time for a time trial. Go to Provo High Track (or some other), and run 12.5 laps as hard as you can after a mile warmup. That is a 5 K. See if you can break 22:00. Either that, or enter a road race 5 K on a certified course.

Ran at an avr of sub 9s I was surprised because I took it easy. I think it was around an 8:45 avr.

Avr 8:30 miles Probably the last Tuesday for a long time that I will only be running 3 miles. I also walked 1.5 to word and 1.5 home and .5 with my wife today. Walking to work gives me time to read!

I ran these 5 at a sub 9 avr pace. I think one thing that is keeping me at slower times is my stride. I am taking a short one currently. I remember that my stride used to be longer. I will gradually increase this.

Do not try to increase your stride length artificially. It will get longer as your leg strength increases with training.

I went running very late and was exhausted. I only ran 5 miles and not 7 which I felt bad about but my body just wasn't moving and I wanted to get home. I ran at a 10 min mile avr.

I got home from hiking all day in goblin valley. It was very easy for me to justify not to go running, I had exercised all day. So I laid down for a nap and then woke up a couple hours later. My mind could still justify not running but my body couldn't - I had a physical urge to go running. So I got dressed and went.

I got food poisioning on sunday night but I still ran the 6 miles while in richfield Utah by salina. I felt like I was going to throw up and go to the bathroom during the entire run. When I got back and throughout the rest of the day I realize I was really sick. I threw up and had diarea until late that night. I think that I should take it easy tomorrow and drink lots of liquids. I am dehidrated and my body had a slight fever

Good work. Time to visit Walmart and get the magic $6.43 watch. Then you will not have to guess how long you took to go to the bathroom, and you'll also be able to take your splits by quarter.

However I made some financial goals the I will be accomplishing towards the end of this week and I decided that I would not buy runnning gear until I had accomplished my goal. Alternating back and forth with a 2 mile warm up on the front and back

I did the total run in about 57.30. I starded with an 8'35" second then did about a 7:45 then went back up to just below 9. After mile 4 I picked up some speed.

I ran this with no water in 97 degree humid wheather along the trail at 1 pm in the afternoon. Wow! I ran it in 1:15:30. hundred degree weather and no water adds 5-7 minutes to my 8 mile run.

I think that I ran about 9 miles because I went running for 84 minutes. 45 minutes out and then in pretty fast. I think I strained my right aquilies tendon sometime later in the day. I might have to take it easy this next week?

My knees were craving the run. they have gotten achy these last few days I think it is for lack of impact. my my achilies tendon was fine and I didn't feel any pain so I will be running the provo half this saturday.
