I ran these 5 at a sub 9 avr pace. I think one thing that is keeping me at slower times is my stride. I am taking a short one currently. I remember that my stride used to be longer. I will gradually increase this.

Do not try to increase your stride length artificially. It will get longer as your leg strength increases with training.
